this painting was made in the spirit of my maternal grandfather, Pop.  He was the coolest and smoothest vato i ever met.  he was a tunnel rat in vietnam and was in a book called 'the tunnels of cu chi'.  he was a hard squirrelly chicano from new mexico.  he was supremely tough and loved talking to the ladies.  he could charm the socks off of anyone.  he would eat apples with a knife and hold a conversation with anyone.  in his later life he loved drinking with his buddies and shooting the shit.  pop took care of my dad when he was in vietnam too.  he was small and hard as nails.  he could kick my ass at any age.  he would pull up to our house in kansas city in his camper and leave his son eag with us for weeks.  this was in the 70's.  he would run marathons and was sponsored by nike for the nyc marathon.  i was and am so proud to be his grandson. his name borrego means lamb.  as in christ's lamb.
